Crossway help their Clients for Construction News Awards 2018

We have been involved with some high profile projects over the last twelve months these are just some where we have helped our clients become finalists for the Construction News Awards 2018.

In the Project of the Year Award (£15m - £30m)

Interserve Construction have been nominated as finalists for the York University Piazza Learning Centre.

Crossway Scaffolding provided the full scaffolding package along with some innovative edge protection solutions to the circular shape of the building.

The project secured jobs for eight local people plus 161 apprentice weeks and used 82 per cent local subcontractors.

In the Project of the Year Award (Over £30m)

Wates have been nominated as finalists for the Vita Student Accommodation project in York.

Crossway provided the full scaffolding package for 15 new build blocks and the existing Convent Building refurbishment using some 700 tons of scaffolding – a total of over a thousand tons of scaffolding was erected over the period.

All this material had to be transported to site through one small gateway due to access restrictions.

One interesting part of the project was where we were asked to provide support to ancient listed walls within the site boundary.

The project was handed over on time, to budget and RIDDOR free over a two year period.
