Crossway Scaffolding has supported the apprenticeship programme for many years now. We take a pro-active approach to our learning programme and understand the need to attract new talent to the industry. As such our training culture has an embedded programme of offering apprenticeship places every year.
Our leadership team are passionate about the training and development of young talent and see that the contribution made by Crossway Scaffolding has a ‘ripple effect’ across the whole construction industry. We feel as though we are ambassadors for not only the scaffolding industry but also for the encouragement of training programmes.
Our training programme is a continuously evolving system. We not only ensure that we encourage our own apprenticeship programme, but we work closely with our customers to ensure that the industry has an encouraging environment to attract new and exciting talent.
As an example of this, we completed a collaborative programme with Wates Construction which we are extremely proud of. Together we offered apprenticeship places to a large number of local residents, and supported and encouraged them throughout the programme.
A representative from Community Investment Advisor Wates Construction said:
“We have been really impressed with the way in which Crossway has approached its apprentice recruitment. As our supply chain partner on the ‘Hull Extra Care PFI Schemes’ Crossway has demonstrated commitment to social value in a commendable way.
Creating employment opportunities for young people is at the heart of what we do, we are very excited that Crossway has offered apprentice scaffolding jobs to Hull residents, and we are working together to enhance these apprentices through training and development. This will enable them to have a good working knowledge that a large scale development commands.
We would like to wish all the new recruits all the very best and thanks go to Crossway for their professionalism."
